14 April 2026Online, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

The final webinar of the ATELIER project will present key results, insights, and practical experiences from the development of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) across Europe.

As part of this international initiative, Bratislava contributed to strengthening knowledge and strategic approaches to sustainable urban transformation. While lighthouse cities such as Amsterdam and Bilbao implemented PEDs, fellow cities focused on building expertise and developing concepts for replication.

Positive Energy Districts are urban areas that produce more energy than they consume over the course of a year. By combining energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy sources, storage systems, and smart grids, PEDs play a crucial role in enabling climate-neutral and resilient cities.

This webinar will showcase:

  • The ATELIER project’s methodology and its benefits for urban strategic planning
  • Practical guidance for implementing PEDs, including stakeholder engagement and site selection
  • Real-world experience from Amsterdam’s Republica district as a lighthouse project
  • Insights from fellow cities Copenhagen and Budapest on sustainable urban development and PED replication strategies

The session will also highlight how collaboration between municipalities, developers, and stakeholders can accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral cities.

Join us to explore how Positive Energy Districts can support smarter, more sustainable urban development across Europe!
