The **Matosinhos Climate Festival** taking place on the 13th of July, Saturday, in the Florbela Espanca Library garden will be a fantastic event in which the work of the 1st Citizenship Laboratory for Climate Transition promoted by the municipality of Matosinhos in collaboration with Parish Unions.
It will be an unforgettable day of celebration designed and prepared by the participating citizens and will serve to present and celebrate the results of the work carried out in the laboratory.
We will start with a bike ride around the city to promote active mobility, bike classes for beginners, with the support of MUBI, and a repair workshop.
There will be an Inflatable Cinema about the environment and climate and storytelling about trees for children with actor Jorge Mota and scientist Fernanda Malhão. At the same time, we will organize a children’s climate assembly with the Common House of Humanity and a city-building workshop with the House of Architecture. The Be the Change Exhibition promoted by CEIIA will be on display.
There will be a seed and plant exchange fair, a tribute to tree owners and the formation of small urban gardens. We will promote an Upcycling workshop (transformation of used clothes), a book exchange event (Let’s Swap) and offer tips for saving water and energy, with the support of LIPOR.
There will be a workshop and a moment to taste vegetarian food and games about mobility and the environment.
A conversation will be held about the desired city and urban proximity with urban planners Peter Fussy, David Leite Viana and Rute Nieto Ferreira and journalist Luísa Pinto do Público and we will close with a dance for the sustainability of Associação Altitude and a tribute to the fantastic citizens and organizations who made the history of this remarkable effort of civic innovation for the climate transition
