The two ATELIER cities Amsterdam and Bratislava recently received their Mission Label within the EU’s Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. This means that both cities have successfully developed credible, inclusive, and investment-ready strategies for a climate-neutral future by 2030. The Mission Label – an official recognition by the European Commission – facilitates the access to funding and financing from both public and private sources.
Seven out of eight ATELIER cities are part of the 112 cities that have committed themselves to become climate-neutral by 2030 under the EU’s Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission. With Amsterdam and Bratislava having obtained their Mission Label recently, and Budapest, Copenhagen, Krakow, Porto (if we consider Matosinhos to be part of Porto, since Matosinhos is a direct neighbour and has also developed a strategy to become climate-neutral by 2030) and Riga already carrying the label, we are proud to say that now all these seven cities have achieved this important step within the Cities Mission and that the representation of cities with these ambitious plans for the future is exceptionally high in our project.
