The Municipality of Budapest finished drafting its Sustainable Energy Climate Action Plan (SECAP) at the end of 2020 and consulted it with the different departments that are also part of the ATELIER Smart City Planning Group. Subsequently, a public consultation was launched on the Budapest website where the local public could comment, suggest, and give their opinion as well, between 19 January and 19 February 2021. The municipality’s received feedback from a wide range of actors: local residents, district and county level municipalities, local and national civil organisations, public utility companies, and professional organisations dealing with climate change issues. After processing the received comments and suggestions, the finalised SECAP/Climate Strategy document will be approved by the municipality’s General Assembly on 31 March 2021.
