Matosinhos had its first Atelier workshop on March 11th, 2022, where there was time to discuss the SWOT analysis together with various stakeholders which gave their contribute sharing their knowledge and experience in six main topics: Buildings, Governance, Digitalization, Mobility and Transports, Energy Transition and Climate Change.
We are also pleased to announce that our Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) meets the evaluation criteria and was approved by the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.
On the same topic, the Municipal Youth Council of Matosinhos launched the Municipal Climate Charter. It is a digital, dynamic, and participatory platform, with several functions, involving the youth community in the municipality in the discussion and construction of a sustainable environmental policy, assuming a serious commitment to implement concrete measures. The Municipal Climate Charter intends to alert to the importance of environmental preservation, sustainable development and the implementation of good environmental practices that respect the environment. Before the ceremony, the Climate Charter flag was hoisted at the City Hall Building. There was also a cycle route and other non-polluting means of mobility.
