Basque Energy Cluster

Asociación Cluster de Energía del País Vasco

The Basque Energy Cluster is a non-profit organisation set up in late 1996 within the framework of the Basque Government’s policy to foster competitiveness in the industrial sector. The Cluster currently comprises 171 businesses and agencies: energy sector operators, equipment and component manufacturers, engineering firms, service companies, Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network agents and Basque Government public agencies.

The Cluster mission is to improve competitiveness in the Basque energy sector, particularly in SMEs, by fostering cooperation among companies and public-private partnerships. With this in mind, the Cluster brings added value to its members in the fields of technology, internationalisation, talent, innovation and sustainability.

Role in the project

In ATELIER project, the Basque Energy Cluster will support the Bilbao lighthouse partners mainly in the definition of the city vision, the set-up and development of the innovation atelier concept in Bilbao, the implementation of the stakeholder engagement strategy and the dissemination and communication activities linked to the Zorrotzaurre pilot area.
